Android Phone Verizon Resource in Questions
Does anybody know if there is going to be an android phone released on Verizon by July or August? I really want an android phone, but I can't switch to T-Mobile for the G1 because the service is horrible, and my contract isn't up for a while. I think that the HTC Magic might come to Verizon from Vodafone, but I'm not that sure.

soon2bmarine replied: "The g2 is never coming to verizon cause jus like the iphone have a contract with at&t google have a contract with tmobile, they have the right to every g series phone..every phone company will have a android phone but they won't be as good as the g2 or upcoming g series phone..the reason its on Vodafone is because Vodafone is the best company in europe and jus cause they owns 45 percent of verizon that's does mean they will get the g2

are they planning on making an android phone for Verizon? I was just wondering because my friend has it but hes a different company, it's an amazing phone and i want it, but the only problem is I'm Verizon, so tell me if you find any information

Google Android phone for Verizon? So, I have never unlocked a phone before and I'm curious if there is any way to unlock a Google Android (only on T-mobile) and put it on my Verizon account. I heard something about an unlock coming for the Android, but I'm also wondering what the ramifications for doing this are?
itsa s replied: "As of right now no since it has just came out no one has experimented to see if the phone can be unlocked but t-mobile claims that it is locked to the t-mobile network and they wont realize the unlock code until you have been in a contract for at least 90 days. so i guess we will just have to wait and see as im sure you remember when shortly after the iphone came out that teenager figured out how to hack the iphone but to answer question right now no, but give it time because im sure someone will find a way =]"

and i do think it says alot about Verizon if T-mobile is able to come out with a better phone

twolkitt replied: "No it is not possible. T-mobile uses SIM cards and the G1 requires a sim card to work, since verizon doesnt use SIM cards it will not work on thier network"
new verizon android phone question? i have heard rumors that there are going to be 2 android phones... or is it just one phone with another name? also, do you think it will be a good phone to get? my upgrade is due :-)
Chris replied: "Android is all about open source development which allows for complete customization of your device. There will be 4 VZ Android phones by then end of 1st quarter 2010. It looks like the Motorola Sholes will be the best of the bunch so far. Its a pretty big deal and definitely worth waiting for. Check the picture below.

Android phone? I've been hearing a lot about these new "android" phones, like the google phone. I have verizon wireless and I am trying to figure out if any of these kind of phones will be released for them. I know I heard that verizon and google may be making an agreement...any clues?

Verizon and Google in cahoots with the android phones? Will you have to pay extra monthly to use them ? Are these going to be considered smart phones and will you have to pay at $30 extra a month to use the android phones like you have to do with the smartphones on verizon?
I hope not. I refuse to pay 30 dollars extra a month for the internet I would hardly ever use.

Bruce B replied: "Until Verizon releases an Android phone, one can only speculate. I work for Verizon Wireless, and my best guess is that you will need to pay $29.99/mo more to use an Android phone than a normal cell phone.
We used to release smart phones that didn't require a mimimum data plan of $29.99/mo, but as of about a half a year ago, all new smart phones were required to have a minimum data plan of $29.99/mo. If someone still owns a smart phone that was released before this requirement, they are allowed to continue using it without the mandatory $29.99/mo."
